Financial literacy speaker for universities and NIL programs.
Your student-athletes are earning real money before they have been taught how money works. I teach them, from the first brand deal to the first pro contract, and I teach the staff who support them.

NIL gave student-athletes an income. Nobody gave them the instructions.

Your athletes can sign a brand deal on a Tuesday and owe quarterly taxes by the next semester. They are managing 1099 income, agents, collectives and a personal brand while carrying a full course load and a competition schedule, and most of them have never had a single class on money.
Your compliance and student-athlete development staff are being asked to fill that gap on top of everything else. An NIL financial literacy program built for student-athletes takes it off their desk and gives athletes a way to handle money that lasts long after eligibility runs out.

Hi, I'm Hillary Seiler. And I'm a proud Oregon State graduate.
I have spent 16+ years teaching people how money works, 14 of them inside banking and mortgage lending. In 2016 an NFL director of player engagement asked me to teach his rookies, and that call turned into Financial Footwork and ten seasons inside NFL and NBA organizations. Universities came next, because the athletic development staff who saw what it did for a rookie class wanted the same thing for their student-athletes, and NIL made it urgent. My book, Train Your Money, is the method I teach from.
The same thing pro athletes get.
Someone who has been in the locker room, who talks to them like the professionals they are becoming, and who is not selling anything. I am an educator and a coach, not a financial advisor. I do not sell products, I do not manage money, and I do not touch their deals, which is why compliance offices let me in and why athletes actually listen.

The move from college to professional sports is one of the most financially dangerous moments in an athlete's life. Sudden income, an agent, a financial team to build, and a hundred people with a hand out.
I have spent ten seasons as the NFL Money Coach inside NFL and NBA organizations, teaching rookies what to do with the first contract. Transition to the Pros brings that same session to your campus before the draft, so your athletes walk into the league already knowing the plays.
Sudden income
How to manage a first pro contract without being managed by it.
Taxes, agents and the financial team
What professional-level taxes look like and how to vet the people you hire.
Protection from day one
Safeguarding wealth and identity before the visibility arrives.
Fits your existing programming
A workshop or seminar series inside draft prep, exit programming or senior development.
One program for every stage of the student-athlete lifecycle.
Freshman orientation
The first money session, before the first NIL deal or the first refund check.
Preseason
Team-by-team sessions or one all-athlete keynote while every roster is on campus.
In season
Short seminars and virtual sessions that fit around travel weeks and competition.
Offseason
The deeper workshops: taxes and 1099s, credit, brand deals, and the money side of the transfer portal.
Senior year and draft prep
Transition to the Pros for athletes headed to the league, and life-after-sport sessions for everyone else.
Athletics staff
Coaches, trainers and department employees have paychecks and questions too.

Built around your sports, your seasons and your compliance office.
Every university has its own structure, culture and priorities, so nothing I deliver is a template. Before I come to campus I learn your department. Then I build the sessions by sport and by season, so the content and the schedule fit the roster, the competition calendar and the travel weeks.

What athletic departments say.
“Hillary is an exceptionally intelligent and talented individual that prioritizes and deeply understands how to connect with people in a genuine way. Hillary's main goal is to educate, but she indirectly provides a positive influence of motivation, connectivity, and autonomy for our LSU student-athletes as she guides them through the nuances of their financial fitness. She also provides assistance for our LSU athletics staff members as they progress and navigate their financial journeys. Hillary's ability to appropriately cater educational content to anyone in the room speaks volumes to her desire to authentically connect with and support others. If anyone can make financial literacy fun, engaging, and relatable it's Hillary!”

“Before working with Coach Hill, many of our student-athletes had limited understanding of how to manage income and plan for the financial realities that come with NIL opportunities. Her sessions have helped them think more intentionally about cash flow, taxes, and long-term decision-making, and we've already seen a shift in how they approach their money and ask more informed questions. She's made a lasting impact, and we truly view her as an essential part of supporting our student-athletes in this space.”

“In 2019, when I was with the Cleveland Browns, I met Hillary Seiler, who came in to teach our rookie class about all things money. Over the years, we stayed connected as great friends and she always extended herself as a genuine resource. Fast forward 6 years later, as I have stepped into my new role with Boise State Athletics, I made one phone call and she didn’t hesitate to come through and deliver! We partnered together to provide the “Blue Chip$” Financial Wellness Series, year-round education serving all of our teams on campus.”

“I was fortunate enough to meet Hillary in July of 2018 and quickly realized her expertise and approach was different in terms of being able to capture the attention of student-athletes and give them usable information in real time. Her knowledge of the subject matter is incredible and her delivery is impeccable. Furthermore, she has a great grasp of the ability to connect with student-athletes because of her experience and credibility with professional athletes. The real value is that this is not a one-off or “check-the-box” type program; there is real and sustainable learning and she always has strong takeaways from each session that students can use immediately. We have had very positive feedback both from student-athletes and staff and I highly recommend her work without hesitation. If you really want a program that is going to give your students real skills that they can use daily, this is the program for you. Financial literacy should be a requirement for all students and this program is a winner in all aspects.”

Planning a preseason session or a year-round series?
Bios, intro script, AV needs and the media kit, ready the day you book.
Trusted by LSU, Boise State and Oregon State athletics.
Who is university and NIL programming for?
Student-athletes at any level who are earning or about to earn NIL income, the athletic department staff who support them, and campus programs that want financial literacy for the wider student body. Sessions are built for the room, so a freshman team meeting and a senior draft prep group get different content.
What does an NIL financial education program cover?
Budgeting with variable income, credit, taxes and 1099s, bookkeeping, contracts, fraud and identity protection, and choosing a financial team. Transition to the Pros adds pro contracts, agents and professional-level taxes for athletes headed to the league.
How is it delivered?
As keynotes, workshops and year-round seminar series, in person or virtual, so travel weeks and competition schedules do not get in the way.
Can it be tailored to our sports and our compliance requirements?
Yes, every time. Sessions are built by sport, season and department priority, and coordinated with your compliance and student-athlete development staff.
What do athletes and the department get afterward?
Every athlete gets the Train Your Money Starter Playbook and the session worksheets. Your department gets a one-page Event Recap with participation, the questions the room asked, and next steps. Hillary never reports an individual athlete's financial information.
Is this financial advising?
No. Hillary is an educator and a coach. She does not sell financial products, does not manage money, and takes no part in any NIL deal.
Let's give your student-athletes a playbook for the money they are already earning.
